In the installation “Ambitioufy the Unambitious”, a photo displayed in the SOX showcase window depicts a different storefront; a decorated interior, an armchair and side table, a plant, a large jungle print, and a shelf on which a book and a graphic stand. The image of the jungle has the effect of being a passageway through which one can see yet another room. In the foreground is the actual room of the display window, overgrown with thick, intertwined plants, which will turn towards light, to the outside, over the course of the exhibition.

Through a series of interventions the installation will expand into its surroundings. A detail photographed from the display will appear on the building's outer walls and doorways, on a billboard in the neighbourhood. Taken on their own, the motifs of the streetscape and its surroundings may be observed, loosed from the exhibition context in SOX. Yet they refer back to details displayed in the showcase, thereby bringing the observations of the viewer into question.

Die Installation "Ambitioufy the Unambitious" stellt im SOX Schaufenster das Photo eines anderen Schaufensters aus. Eine dekorierte Inneneinrichtung ist zu sehen, Sessel mit Beistelltisch, eine Pflanze, ein großes Dschungelbild und ein Regal, auf dem ein Buch sowie eine Grafik stehen. Das Bild des Dschungels wirkt wie ein Durchgang, durch den man auf einen weiteren Raum hinter dem Bild blickt. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist der eigentliche Raum des Schaukastens dicht bewachsen mit ineinander verschlungenen Pflanzen. Während der Ausstellung werden sie sich Licht und Außenraum zuwenden.

Die Installation wird durch eine Intervention in der Umgebung erweitert. Ein Detail des Schaufensterfotos taucht wiederholt an Hauswänden, Eingängen und Plakatflächen auf. Da dieses Motiv der Umgebung und dem Straßenbild selbst entnommen ist, kann es losgelöst vom Ausstellungskontext im SOX entdeckt werden. Und dennoch führt der Ausschnitt auf den Schaukasten zurück, in dem das Detail zu sehen ist. Die Beobachtung des Betrachters wird befragt.

Anlässlich der Ausstellung im SOX ist eine Siebdruck-Edition in der Größe eines A0 Formats entstanden, die über die website käuflich zu erwerben ist.
